On Saturday, Seattle’s hockey team, the Kraken, took a playful jab at Toronto Blue Jays fans beyond the realm of baseball. The Kraken donned Seattle Mariners jerseys at Scotiabank Arena, showing support for their city’s baseball team as they faced the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series (ALCS).
Not stopping there, the Kraken also engaged in social media banter with posts like “walk in the 6ix, takeover the 6ix” and “SEATTLE OVER EVERYBODY.” The team’s Twitter account shared a message emphasizing their support for Seattle above all.
In a bold move, the Kraken defeated the Maple Leafs 4-3 on the ice. The Mariners, holding a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series, secured a 6-2 victory over the Blue Jays in Game 5 the previous day.
The Toronto Blue Jays will have another chance to face off against Seattle in a crucial Game 6 at Rogers Centre on Sunday night.
