Justin Bieber made history at the American Music Awards by clinching the title of best male pop artist for the fifth time, setting a new record. Hailing from Stratford, Ontario, Bieber had previously won the award four times, starting from 2010 when it was known as favorite pop/rock male artist.
At this year’s awards ceremony in Las Vegas, Bieber was nominated for four categories, including artist of the year and album of the year for his album “Swag.” This recent win brings Bieber’s total American Music Awards to 19, putting him on par with the late Kenny Rogers for the second-highest number of wins by a male artist. Michael Jackson still holds the top spot among male artists with 24 awards.
Justin Bieber returned to the spotlight with a memorable performance at Coachella last month, marking his first major show since postponing a tour in 2022 due to health issues related to Ramsay Hunt syndrome. Notable winners from the event included BTS, who secured the artist of the year title, and Sabrina Carpenter, who emerged victorious in the album of the year category.
