Five members of the Toronto Blue Jays have been selected as finalists for the prestigious Gold Glove awards, which are presented annually by Major League Baseball to recognize the top defensive players in each position across both leagues. Ernie Clement has been nominated for two awards after being announced as one of the top three finalists in both the American League’s third base and utility categories. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Ty France, who joined the Blue Jays from the Minnesota Twins during the trade deadline, have been nominated for the AL’s Gold Glove in the first-base position. In addition, second baseman Andres Gimenez and catcher Alejandro Kirk have also been named as finalists. Gimenez has previously secured the AL Gold Glove for second base in the past three seasons while playing for the Cleveland Guardians. Guerrero was the recipient of the AL first-base award in 2022. The winners of the Gold Glove awards will be revealed on November 2nd.
