“Bull Semen Baron Faces Bio Lab Scandal in U.S.”

Date:

After leaving British Columbia in 2015, Jesse Jia-Bei Zhu, a 62-year-old individual, faced a six-month jail term and a significant judgment from the B.C. Supreme Court due to his failed aspirations in the bull semen industry. Nearly ten years later, Zhu’s name has resurfaced in the U.S. in connection with peculiar allegations involving biolabs in California and Nevada containing potentially hazardous substances.

Authorities discovered a suspected laboratory in a Las Vegas residence proposed by Zhu as his temporary dwelling while facing trial for distributing adulterated COVID-19 tests across the U.S. Zhu, a citizen of both China and Canada, was denied release and remains in pre-trial detention since his 2023 arrest following the discovery of another biological lab in Fresno County, Calif., housing test mice and vials with labels such as HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria.

Currently detained, Zhu is contending against XY LLC’s efforts to enforce B.C. Supreme Court judgments exceeding $270 million for infringing on bull sexing technology. Court evidence sheds light on the legal challenges Zhu confronts today, with his defiance against the rulings evident in his statements.

‘Defeat the American aggressor’

Court documents from Canadian and U.S. legal proceedings provide insights into Zhu’s complex journey that garnered attention in both countries. The Canadian cases also raise concerns about Zhu-linked companies acquiring government grants and engaging in activities deemed potentially fraudulent against the Canadian government.

Zhu relocated to Canada from China in 1988, residing in B.C. and frequently traveling to the U.S. before permanently leaving Canada in 2015. Around this time, Zhu expressed apprehension about returning to Canada due to his civil contempt sentence related to the XY LLC lawsuit.

Following an $8.5 million verdict against Zhu for misusing XY LLC’s technology, he was accused of setting up a new entity clandestinely producing sexed semen using the technology. Conversations indicated Zhu’s intent to undermine XY through strategic maneuvers, leading to a subsequent $270 million damages ruling against him in B.C. court.

An alarming discovery

According to a report by the U.S. Congress Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, Zhu reappeared when law enforcement stumbled upon a suspicious setup in Reedley, Calif., linked to him. The facility contained various biological substances, with some labeled in Mandarin, codes, and English, raising concerns about potential cross-border pathogen transport.

Zhu faced charges for selling unapproved COVID-19 test kits in the U.S., prompting a civil suit against health officials for allegedly misrepresenting the lab’s operations. The congressional report emphasized the need for better oversight of pathogenic studies to prevent risks.

Links to Las Vegas

Recent FBI activities at the California lab tied to a Las Vegas home, owned by an individual connected to Zhu, sparked investigations. Las Vegas police discovered hazardous materials in the house, resembling items from the California lab, leading to the arrest of the property manager.

Zhu, though not implicated in the Las Vegas case, had proposed residing in the home under monitoring conditions. His attorney clarified that Zhu is focused on the upcoming trial regarding the COVID kits and has been incarcerated for three years.

‘Fraud of epic proportions’

Meanwhile, XY LLC persists in pursuing its judgments against Zhu in Canada and Hong Kong. The company refrained from commenting on Zhu’s recent developments, emphasizing ongoing litigation. Zhu’s responses from jail to the civil claim by XY LLC indicate a legal struggle, with the company seeking disclosure of funds used for legal expenses.

XY LLC’s filings highlight Zhu’s alleged fraudulent activities and urge judicial scrutiny of his delay tactics. Zhu’s attempts to challenge the default judgment and adjourn court proceedings are seen as part of his strategy to impede the legal process.
