Diallo, hailing from Montreal, showcased his skills by delivering four aces along with two double faults and successfully converting 2 out of 4 break-point opportunities during the match. On the other hand, Bonzi managed seven aces, two double faults, but failed to secure any break-point chances.
Diallo, seeded 31st in the tournament, advanced to the second round with a bye. His upcoming opponent will be unseeded David Goffin from Belgium. Meanwhile, Montreal’s Felix Auger-Aliassime, seeded 12th, is gearing up to face Chile’s Alejandro Tabilo in the second round.
