“Canadian Screen Awards Honor Children’s TV Excellence”

The Canadian Screen Awards week has started with the announcement of the Children’s Television Awards winners in Toronto at the first of six ceremonies. The event revealed 16 winners across various categories.

Josette Jorge was awarded the Best supporting performer in the children’s or youth category for her role in “The Unstoppable Jenny Garcia.” She posed with her Canadian Screen Award after the win.

The Best writing for pre-school went to “Toopy and Binoo Fabulous Adventures — Giggling Flufferoos,” while “Thomas & Friends: The Christmas Letter Express” won for Best original music in animation.

Will Arnett received the Best voice performance award for “Super Team Canada.” He was also recognized at the 2026 Academy Awards in Los Angeles.

“Old Enough! – Where’s The Ginger, Please?” won for Best picture editing in the children’s or youth category, and “Macy Murdoch — Tick, Tick, Gone” took home the award for Best direction in children’s or youth, with Katie Boland winning for her work.

“The Unstoppable Jenny Garcia — What is Happening to Me?!” clinched the Best writing award in the children’s or youth category, while “Unicorn Academy — Winter Solstice” won for Best sound in animation.

“Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum — I am Jackie Robinson” was recognized for Best writing and direction in animation. The Canada Media Fund kids’ choice award was given to “Mittens & Pants.”

“Daneil Tiger’s Neighbourhood” won for Best pre-school program or series, and “Old Enough!” was awarded Best children’s or youth non-fiction program or series.

Asha Soetan from “Odd Squad” was awarded the Best lead performer in the children’s or youth category. The show also won for Best children’s or youth fiction program or series.

“Super Team Canada” secured the award for Best animated program or series. The show also earned recognition for the Best voice performance by Will Arnett.

The event celebrated outstanding achievements in children’s television programming, honoring talent and creativity in the industry.
