Dolly Parton has decided to delay her Las Vegas residency, marking a pause on her return to the Vegas stage after 32 years due to health issues. The iconic country singer made the announcement via social media, explaining that her doctors have advised her to undergo some medical procedures. She humorously referred to it as her “100,000-mile checkup,” different from her usual visits to the plastic surgeon.
Parton expressed regret over postponing the shows, emphasizing her desire to deliver a top-notch performance for her fans. Originally scheduled for December 4-13 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, the performances have been rescheduled to September 2026. Ticket holders are assured that their tickets will be valid for the new dates, with the option for refunds if needed.
Despite the setback, Parton assured her fans that she is not retiring from the industry. She acknowledged that while she is slowing down for now, she anticipates more exciting adventures ahead with her audience. Parton, known for occasional performances, last toured in 2016 with the Pure & Simple Tour. She remains active, with a new book titled “Star of the Show: My Life on Stage” set for release on November 11, and a Broadway musical inspired by her life scheduled for 2026.
Earlier this year, health issues also prevented Parton from attending an event at her Dollywood theme park in Tennessee. Moreover, the passing of her husband, Carl Dean, in March left a void in her life after almost six decades of marriage. Dean, who shied away from the limelight and inspired Parton’s classic hit “Jolene,” passed away at the age of 82.
