“Florida Woman Charged with Firing Shots at Rihanna’s Home”

Date:

A woman from Florida has been charged with attempted murder and other serious offenses after allegedly firing gunshots at Rihanna’s residence in Los Angeles. The charges against Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, include 10 counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm. The incident took place outside Rihanna’s Beverly Hills home, where the singer, her partner A$AP Rocky, their three children, and her mother were present. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Ortiz, who also faces additional charges such as shooting at an inhabited vehicle or dwelling, appeared in the Superior Court of Los Angeles County before Judge Theresa McGonigle. Her attorney initially entered a not guilty plea on her behalf but later decided to postpone the arraignment to March 25. Ortiz is being held on $1.8 million bail and has been ordered to stay away from Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, and their residence, as well as to refrain from possessing firearms or ammunition.

According to Los Angeles police Chief Jim McDonnell, 10 individuals were at Rihanna’s home during the shooting incident. Investigators believe Ortiz traveled from Florida to the area, although the exact timeline remains unclear. Public records indicate that Ortiz, a licensed speech pathologist, had a recent address in Orlando.

Ortiz was taken into custody following the shooting, during which a weapon was recovered. The police have not disclosed any potential connection between Ortiz and Rihanna. Efforts to reach out to various parties for comments, including Rihanna’s publicist and manager, have not been successful.

Footage from KABC-TV revealed apparent bullet holes in Rihanna’s home, with police dispatch audio indicating that 10 shots were fired. Rihanna, a nine-time Grammy Award winner known for hits like “We Found Love” and “Umbrella,” is also the founder of Fenty Beauty. Together with A$AP Rocky, she welcomed their third child, Rocki Irish Mayers, in September 2025.
