Canadian athlete Nate Tucker set a new championship record in the men’s 1,500-meter T38 final at the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi, India. Tucker, hailing from Victoria, B.C., clinched his third world title in the event with a remarkable time of 3 minutes 57.98 seconds. The 30-year-old runner, previously known as Nate Riech, strategically positioned himself near the front before accelerating on the final lap to secure the lead, surpassing his own previous record by 3.9 seconds from his victory at the 2015 world championships in Dubai.
Having also claimed the 1,500-meter world title in 2023 in Paris and a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Paralympics, Tucker’s latest achievement demonstrates his consistent excellence in para athletics.
