“Odell Beckham Jr. Agrees to 6-Game NFL Suspension”

Date:

Odell Beckham Jr., a free-agent wide receiver, has agreed to a six-game suspension imposed by the NFL following his reported failure of a performance-enhancing drug test last year. The announcement was made by Beckham himself during an appearance on the Pivot podcast. The NFL has informed The Associated Press that Beckham will be ineligible to participate in games until Week 12.

During the podcast, the 32-year-old Beckham stated that he was unaware of taking any performance-enhancing substances. In the previous season, Beckham played nine games with the Miami Dolphins, recording career-low statistics of nine receptions for 55 yards.

Despite the setback, the ten-year NFL veteran expressed his desire to continue playing this season. Beginning as a first-round draft pick in 2014, Beckham achieved four 1,000-yard seasons in his initial five years with the New York Giants.

Subsequently, he was traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2019 and later transferred to the Los Angeles Rams during the 2021 season. Beckham celebrated a Super Bowl win with the Rams in 2021; however, he suffered an ACL injury during the championship game.

Throughout his career, Beckham has accumulated 575 receptions for 7,987 yards, with the latter ranking 119th in NFL history for all-time receiving yardage.
