Gabbie Hughes sealed the win with an empty-net goal, extending Ottawa’s lead. Megan Keller managed to pull one back for Boston, scoring with just 10 seconds left in the second period.
Savolainen broke the deadlock with a precise wrist shot from inside the blue line late in the first period, followed by Kadirova extending the lead to 2-0 early in the second period with a powerful shot from the right circle.
The next faceoff between the two teams will take place in Ottawa for Game 3. The Ottawa Charge managed to bounce back in Game 2, setting the stage for an intense playoff series against the Boston Fleet.
