Raptors’ Brandon Ingram Out for Game 7 vs. Cavs

Date:

The Toronto Raptors will not have forward Brandon Ingram in Game 7 of the NBA Eastern Conference quarterfinal against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The star player was officially declared out approximately 90 minutes before the game at Cleveland’s Rocket Arena. Ingram was spotted wearing a walking boot during the team’s shootaround as he copes with inflammation in his right heel. He exacerbated a previous heel injury and exited during the second quarter of Toronto’s 125-120 loss in Game 5 on Wednesday. Despite efforts, the swelling did not subside enough for him to participate in the Raptors’ 112-110 overtime victory in Game 6 at home on Friday. Consequently, he was ruled out for Game 7 after being listed as questionable on Sunday. Ingram led the team with an average of 21.5 points per game in the regular season but struggled as a scorer in the playoffs, averaging only 12 points.
