Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are revisiting a piece of Canadian nostalgia by reimagining the classic Cancon show “The Littlest Hobo” for a new generation. The duo announced this project as part of Bell Media’s upcoming lineup of screen projects. The revamped version of “The Littlest Hobo” will be a live-action scripted series.
The original show, which aired from 1979 to 1985 on CTV, centered around a resourceful and homeless German shepherd that roamed from town to town helping those in need. Rogen and Goldberg shared their fond memories of the show from their childhood and expressed their enthusiasm for bringing it back with a fresh perspective for modern audiences.
Despite the show’s titular character being small in stature, the creators promised significant and exciting adventures in the new adaptation. Production specifics, including casting and release dates, will be disclosed at a later time.
“The Littlest Hobo” revival is a collaborative effort between Rogen and Goldberg’s Point Grey Pictures and Lionsgate, adding to their successful portfolio that includes award-winning projects like “The Studio.” The comedic series, set in the world of movie studio executives, has garnered critical acclaim.
Both Rogen and Goldberg, hailing from Vancouver, have a track record of successful collaborations in the entertainment industry, with projects such as “Superbad,” “Pineapple Express,” and “The Boys.” They are committed to creating top-tier content for Canadian audiences, as demonstrated by their partnership with Bell Media and Lionsgate Canada.
Their vision for this alliance is to produce innovative and profitable content that showcases the creativity and talent of Canadian entertainment.
