Toronto police have announced the charging of seven additional individuals for unlawfully operating drones over Rogers Centre during the Blue Jays post-season baseball games. Utilizing specialized drone technology, the Toronto Emergency Management and Public Order Unit identified and intercepted seven unauthorized drone flights in and around the baseball stadium during games held on Sunday and Monday. Charges were filed against seven people, totaling eight charges, for contravening Canadian Aviation Regulations and breaching federally designated no-fly zones. The drone policy of Rogers Centre specifies that the stadium falls within the no-fly zone of the nearby Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Earlier this month, police had issued fines to two individuals for flying drones over the stadium during games. The upcoming Game 6 of the American League Championship Series against the Seattle Mariners will see the Blue Jays back at home on Sunday.
