The Rolling Stones have announced the upcoming release of their latest album, “Foreign Tongues,” scheduled to debut on July 10. Alongside this announcement, the band dropped a new single titled “In The Stars.”
To mark the occasion, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood will be present at an album unveiling event in Brooklyn later today. This album follows their 2023 release, “Hackney Diamonds,” which marked their return to original material after a gap of 18 years since “A Bigger Bang” in 2005, and was their first full-length project since the passing of drummer Charlie Watts in 2021.
“Foreign Tongues” is set to feature a posthumous appearance by Watts from one of his final recording sessions, as well as collaborations with Steve Winwood, Paul McCartney, Robert Smith from The Cure, and Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Mick Jagger expressed his enthusiasm for the recording process at Metropolis in London, describing it as intense but rewarding. The Stones continued their partnership with acclaimed pop producer Andrew Watt, who previously worked on “Hackey Diamonds.”
The buzz around the new album started with mysterious posters in London under the alias “The Cockroaches,” a name previously used by the band, leading fans to a vinyl-only release of the track “Rough and Twisted.” Subsequent billboards featuring the band’s logo and multilingual phrases hinting at “Foreign Tongues” further fueled anticipation.
Fans were treated to a slide puzzle revealing the album cover and a brief teaser video hinting at a new song on the horizon. The Rolling Stones have successfully built excitement for their upcoming musical offering, promising a fresh experience for their dedicated followers.
