“Off Campus” Skates into Spotlight, Challenging “Heated Rivalry”

Date:

A sizzling new contender has emerged to challenge the dominance of the hit series “Heated Rivalry.” The new rival in the game is “Off Campus,” a steamy hockey-themed show with deep Canadian roots.

Based on the popular novels by Toronto native Elle Kennedy, “Off Campus” chronicles the blossoming romance between music student Hannah Wells (played by Ella Bright) and star hockey player Garrett Graham (played by Belmont Cameli). Their tutoring arrangement leads to a passionate love story set against the backdrop of university rivalries and athletic tensions.

The series, currently holding the top spot on Amazon Prime Video in Canada, showcases Canadian talent both in front of and behind the camera, with Canadian settings and homegrown music adding to its allure.

Noteworthy connections include Elle Kennedy, the Canadian author behind the “Off Campus” book series who also serves as a producer for the TV adaptation. Hailing from Toronto, Kennedy has penned nearly 50 contemporary novels and is deeply involved in bringing her literary creations to the screen.

Filmed predominantly in Vancouver, “Off Campus” transforms the city into the fictional Briar University in Boston, utilizing locations such as the University of British Columbia and real-life spots like the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre and the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre.

The Toronto-based band The Beaches received a significant boost in popularity after their song “Edge of the Earth” was featured in an episode of “Off Campus,” leading to a dramatic surge in streaming numbers across various platforms.

The show also boasts a talented Canadian cast, with actors like Stephen Kalyn, Dylan Kingwell, and Julia Sarah Stone bringing their characters to life. The presence of Canadian talent extends behind the scenes as well, with individuals like Leanna Billings and Ian Deitchman contributing their expertise as producers and writers.

With its compelling storyline, strong Canadian connections, and talented team, “Off Campus” is making waves in the world of television entertainment.
