“Tom Holland Makes Spicy History on ‘Hot Ones'”

Date:

Tom Holland, aged 30, faced a formidable opponent on the popular internet show Hot Ones: extremely spicy chicken wings. During a recent episode alongside his co-star Jon Bernthal, aged 49, Holland took on the challenge of answering questions while consuming increasingly fiery wings.

Despite successfully completing all 10 rounds, the real test came after the final bite. Holland became the first guest in the show’s 11-year history to vomit during an episode, although the moment was discreetly off-camera.

Following the wing challenge, as the duo filmed the outro, Holland experienced a sudden bout of coughing and briefly vomited under the table. Bernthal, in a supportive role, egged him on enthusiastically while Holland, with a grin, played along, showcasing his unsoiled attire to the camera.

Holland’s unexpected reaction was taken in stride, with Bernthal inquiring if such incidents had occurred before on set. Holland, embracing the situation, expressed his enjoyment at being a trailblazer and even requested to review the footage.

The pivotal moment leading to the episode’s climax was just before the notorious “last dab,” where guests coat their final wing in the spiciest sauce. Holland and Bernthal attempted to devour the entire wing, leading to immediate regret and physical distress.

Despite the spicy ordeal, the two actors share a significant history, having collaborated on various projects over the years. Holland emotionally praised Bernthal on the show, highlighting their enduring friendship and shared experiences in the entertainment industry.

Their latest collaborative venture, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is set to premiere on July 31, following their joint success in previous blockbusters. The duo’s professional journey, from auditioning together to achieving shared accomplishments, was a poignant moment of reflection during the program.

The Odyssey, a modern rendition of Homer’s classic tale directed by Christopher Nolan, achieved substantial box office success, surpassing $260 million globally in its opening weekend, marking a significant milestone in Nolan’s filmmaking career.
