CBC Sports and the Canadian Elite Basketball League have revealed the schedule for this season’s broadcast and streaming, marking the continuation of their five-year partnership. The live streaming of all games will begin on May 9 at 3:30 p.m. ET from the Edmonton EXPO Centre, featuring Xavier Moon’s return with the Winnipeg Sea Bears. Fans can catch the action on CBCSports.ca, CBC Gem, and CBC Sports’ YouTube channel.

CEBL president and CEO Ty Mazereeuw expressed excitement for the upcoming season, emphasizing the commitment to providing high-quality Canadian sports content to viewers nationwide. The league aims to showcase premier matchups and offer free access to Canadian pro basketball action.

Furthermore, CBC TV will air six regular-season games, conference finals, and the championship series. Notable matchups include the Calgary Surge facing the Vancouver Bandits in a marquee rematch on July 5 at Langley Events Centre, highlighting the league’s top rivalries and talent.

CBC Sports, which originally broadcasted CEBL games from 2019 to 2022, is geared up to engage a broader audience through various platforms while also catering to local fans in CEBL host cities across Canada. Chris Wilson, CBC’s executive director of Sports and Olympics, expressed enthusiasm for showcasing Canada’s emerging basketball talent to fans nationwide.

With a growing fan base of 4.1 million Canadians, the CEBL has seen a significant increase in popularity, particularly among younger audiences. Over 50% of its fans are aged 34 or younger, indicating a strong appeal to the youth demographic.

The regular-season games airing on CBC TV include matchups like Winnipeg Sea Bears at Edmonton Stingers on May 9 and Calgary Surge at Vancouver Bandits on July 5. The complete schedule for CBC Sports’ playoff coverage will be announced later.
