Diljit Dosanjh and Karan Aujla, two prominent figures in Punjabi music on a global scale, are poised to headline at Canada’s largest venues, showcasing the genre’s burgeoning popularity worldwide. Dosanjh is commencing his Aura World Tour in Vancouver on April 23, with plans to fill B.C. Place to capacity. Fans like Preet Gill, who will attend the Calgary show, express admiration for Dosanjh’s representation of Punjabi culture on the international platform.

Dosanjh, hailing from Punjab, India, boasts a musical career spanning two decades with over a dozen albums to his name. Noteworthy for his acting roles in Hindi and Punjabi cinema, Dosanjh made waves in 2026 as the first turban-wearing Indian artist at the Met Gala in New York. On the other hand, Karan Aujla, a Juno Award recipient, is embarking on his P-pop Culture Tour with sold-out performances scheduled in Vancouver and other Canadian cities.

Both Dosanjh and Aujla are at the forefront of the surging popularity of Punjabi music, as evidenced by their massive streaming numbers and concert ticket sales. Aujla’s YouTube channel has surpassed four billion views, while Dosanjh has exceeded five billion, outstripping some mainstream Canadian acts. The digital success of Indian artists is translating into significant revenue, with Dosanjh’s 2024 tour generating $63 million US in concert-related spending. Live Nation anticipates even higher earnings this year, with ticket prices reaching up to $1,800.

With Punjabi music gaining traction globally, the tours by Dosanjh and Aujla are expected to draw international audiences, reflecting the genre’s resonance with diverse communities. Canada, home to a sizable South Asian population, is a pivotal market for Punjabi music, exemplified by the strong demand for concerts by Dosanjh and Aujla. The music industry is evolving to reflect Canada’s cultural diversity, as seen in the curated concerts and the enthusiastic reception from audiences.

Dosanjh’s influence extends beyond music, encompassing collaborations with international artists like Sia and David Guetta, as well as ventures into film.
