Singer and actress Selena Gomez faced a lawsuit on Thursday from investors who alleged that she engaged in fraudulent activities by neglecting her responsibilities to establish and promote her mental health startup. The investors had poured in approximately $1.2 million USD ($1.67 million) into Wondermind Global, a venture initiated in 2021 with the objective of enhancing users’ “mental fitness,” as stated in the lawsuit filed in federal court in Delaware.
Investors claimed that they were assured of Gomez’s active involvement in the company’s development as the head of marketing. However, they contended that Gomez and other executives failed to honor their commitments, such as the creation of a mobile application. The lawsuit asserted that Gomez purportedly agreed to a contract to fulfill certain obligations but disregarded them.
The investors criticized the company for not fulfilling even the most fundamental duties, such as timely payment to employees and vendors, citing the absence of a genuine and profitable business operation. A spokesperson for Gomez did not provide an immediate response to the request for comments.
The lawsuit disclosed that the investors only became aware of the company’s challenges when an online news article exposed them in September 2025. The plaintiffs are seeking to recover their investments along with legal expenses.
